About Clare
About Clare
I earned my math degree from the University of Oregon and have over a decade of experience tutoring math and supporting students through their unique academic contexts. I work with students who already love math, as well as those for whom math just hasn't clicked yet.
My goal is to make math accessible, rewarding, and fun. Because of my own advanced math background, I'm able to teach challenging math topics in an unusually clear way, without sacrificing depth or rigor. My teaching style is highly interactive, and I emphasize the process of learning along with the outcome. During lessons, my students are invited to share in my own love of math, and together we approach math with creativity, resilience, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness.
I especially welcome learners who are neurodivergent, who have math fear, and/or who have not yet reached their full potential. I love helping all my students succeed and excel!

Clare was very helpful throughout a hard year academically. Going through junior year was hard enough but having her there for that little extra support in a subject that I love but find hard is amazing.
Every time we met she would ask about my day and be a positive spot in my time in this class level. When I was gone for sports or out sick and missed a class she would never hesitate to be the rock I needed to understand the unit. Clare has been truly amazing for my son. He has always struggled really hard in math but Clare walked him through it every week step by step and was truly instrumental in my son's success. We have made it through the required levels before graduation and will really miss Clare's weekly tutoring sessions.
Not only is she an excellent tutor that really knows math inside and out, she really cares about her students, their lives, their quirks, their daily feelings and their overall mental health. Clare is an amazing professional tutor. She has worked with both my 8th grade child on math and my 2nd grade child on distance learning tasks.
